Tanya Gaum, MEd, MA
I have been working with survivors of interpersonal trauma and abuse for the past 20 years. My passion for working in this area began in Vancouver, Canada where I provided case management and counseling services to street-entrenched youth and young adults. In the wake of this eye-opening experience, I pursued higher education and advanced training toward a strength-based, trauma-informed and empowering psychotherapy practice.
I have an M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology, an M.A. in Psychology and have trained as a clinical intern in both Canada and Los Angeles. I relocated to Los Angeles in 2016, after working in private practice in Toronto for six years.
I am honored and inspired to now be practicing under the supervision of Fiona Steele, LMFT, with a focus on Narcissistic Abuse Recovery (NAR),
My decision to specialiize in NAR was prompted by patterns and similarities I was recognizing in the narratives of many of my clients, as well as my personal experiences with narcissistic personalities. I understand the confusing and painful dynamic of a narcissistic relationship and I continue to enhance my knowledge on how to help survivors of narcissitic abuse to heal.
I welcome your inquiries if you would like to learn more about me and my approach to therapy and narcissistic abuse recovery.
